Devil Square in MU Online: complete guide

Devil Square in MU Online: level range of each arena, how to make the Devil's Invitation, how to score and what it pays in EXP, zen and jewels.

Devil Square is MU's wave arena: up to 10 players enter, the arena fills with monsters and every kill is worth points. A match lasts 20 minutes and opens every 4 hours, on the hour. The exact time in your time zone is on the events page.

Which arena is yours

The arena depends on your character's level. Magic Gladiator and Dark Lord have their own range.

Devil Square 7 requires the third class: Blade Master, Grand Master, High Elf, Duel Master or Lord Emperor.

The ticket: Devil's Invitation

  1. Hunt a Devil's Eye and a Devil's Key of the same level as the arena. Both pieces drop from monsters, at 1% each, and no NPC sells them.
  2. Take both pieces and one Jewel of Chaos to the Chaos Goblin, in Noria 180,103.
  3. The combination succeeds 80% of the time up to level 4 and 70% from level 5 on, and gives you the Devil's Invitation of that level.

The piece's level follows the level of the monster that dropped it:

piecemonster level
+12 to 35
+236 to 46
+347 to 59
+460 to 69
+570 to 79
+680 to 89
+790 and up

The invitation's level must match the arena for your range: a +3 Devil's Invitation only opens Devil Square 3. The invitation is used up when you enter.

How to enter

Talk to Charon, in Noria 171,105, with the invitation in your inventory. Get there before the hour: the entrance stays open for only 1 minute after the event opens.

Your active buffs are removed when you enter. Buff again inside.

How the match works

Devil Square is the simplest of the three events:

  • The arena fills with monsters, in waves, for the full 20 minutes.
  • Each kill is worth the arena number in points. A kill in Devil Square 7 is worth seven times one in Devil Square 1.
  • There is no boss, gate or item to deliver. What counts is the score table at the end.
  • Only players still in the arena when time runs out make the table. Whoever dies is out of the event.

The score goes to the event ranking.

What you get

rewardwho gets it
Experience and zen by position in the tablewhoever finishes alive
A 60% chance of a random jewel among Bless, Soul, Chaos, Life and Creationthe top three, and only if they make it alive

Finishing Devil Square is one of the few sources of Jewel of Creation. See them all in jewels and economy.

Tips

  • Dying costs everything. Whoever dies is left off the table and gets no reward. Bring plenty of potions and don't take risks in the last minute.
  • Favor area skills. Monsters come in packs; a skill that hits several at once racks up points faster.
  • Play as a party. The arena allows parties, and a party holds the waves with less risk of dying.
  • Leave inventory space. The reward goes to your inventory; if it's full, it drops on the ground. After the end you have 3 minutes before you're taken out.
  • Keep the pieces that drop. With a pair ready and a Jewel of Chaos saved, you won't miss the next run.
  • Between events, play with Idle. The invitation pieces drop from monsters, and Idle hunts on its own while you wait for the next opening.
