Dark Wizard Build in MU Online

Dark Wizard build for MU Online Season 6: how much Energy, Agility and Vitality to add, spells by level, evolution, sets and Idle setup.

The Dark Wizard is the mage: ranged area spells that wipe a pack of monsters before it gets close. It has less HP than the Dark Knight and makes up for it by killing from a distance. It also has Teleport, to get away, and Soul Barrier, a shield that absorbs part of the damage.

Points per level

The Dark Wizard earns 5 points per level. After the Gain Hero Status quest, from level 220, it earns 6.

On reset, your points are wiped and replaced by 1,500 × your reset count: at reset 3 you start level 1 with 4,500 points to spend, and the points from each level come on top. See the reset tutorial.

What each stat does for a DW

StatEffect
EnergyMagic damage, mana (2 per point) and the requirement for spells
AgilityDefense, defense rate and casting speed
VitalityHP (2 per point)
StrengthOnly the requirement for staff and armor

Stat distribution

Strength only up to what your gear asks for: it's not much. The rest follows one of two lines.

Damage DWSturdy DW
Energy65%50%
Agility20%20%
Vitality10%25%
Strengthwhat your gear needswhat your gear needs

With 4,500 points, the damage DW ends up with about 2,900 Energy, 900 Agility and 450 Vitality, with the rest in Strength.

  • Damage DW: kills the pack before taking hits. Best on a map you already handle.
  • Sturdy DW: survives strong maps and events. Good for leaving Idle on for many hours.

The strong spells need a lot of Energy: Inferno 578, Ice Storm 849, Decay 953 and Nova 1,052. After a reset, put Energy first so you can cast the spell you were using again.

To spend points without clicking one by one, use /add ene 500 or /ene 500. To have points spent automatically as you level, use /auto ene 1000 agi 300. A reset cancels the queue: set it up again after resetting. The commands are in keys and commands.

Spells by range

Each spell comes from a scroll. The requirement is Energy, not level.

EnergySpellWhere it comes from

A scroll drops from monsters close to its level. Tarkan and Aida drop the ones in the 74 to 85 range, such as Aqua Beam and Cometfall. See where to farm at each level range.

Evolution

  • Soul Master: second class, from level 150.
  • Gain Hero Status: quest from Marlon at level 220; gives 1 extra point per level.
  • Grand Master: third class, from level 400. Opens the Master Level tree, with upgrades such as Inferno Strengthener and Hellfire Strengthener.

The step by step is in class evolution.

The Chaos Lightning Staff doesn't drop from monsters: it comes from the Chaos Machine. Imperial Staff, Grand Viper Staff and the Venom Mist set require level 380.

With Idle

  • Attack skill: Evil Spirit from 220 Energy. It hits everything around the wizard, and with Idle standing still the monsters come to you.
  • Buff (VIP): Soul Barrier.
  • Potions: health potion at 60% or higher, because the wizard has little HP. Without VIP, Idle doesn't drink mana potions: Evil Spirit costs 90 mana per cast, so keep spare Energy so your mana doesn't run out.
  • Spot: somewhere monsters spawn around you, at a level the DW kills in one or two casts. See Idle.
