Socket items (purple name) and 380 items in MU Online
Socket items (purple name) and 380 items in Idle MU's MU Online Season 6: how to make the seed and the Seed Sphere, mount it in a socket, the option table for each element, the bonuses and how to add the 380 option.
In Idle MU, an item with a purple name is a socket item: it has 1 to 3 sockets (the Stinger Bow, up to 5), and each socket takes a Seed Sphere, which gives an option such as damage, attack speed, defense or life. It takes three combinations, all in Noria, next to the Chaos Goblin:
- Seed Master: an excellent item and an ancient item become a seed.
- Seed Master: the seed and a sphere become a Seed Sphere.
- Seed Researcher: the Seed Sphere goes into the item's socket.
The 380 items are each class's level 380 pieces: the Dragon Knight, Venom Mist, Sylphid Ray, Volcano and Sunlight sets and the Bone Blade, Explosion Blade, Grand Viper Staff, Sylph Wind Bow and Soleil Scepter weapons. They get the 380 option at the Chaos Machine, with one Jewel of Harmony and one Jewel of Guardian.
Summary: what to bring to each combination
| combination | NPC | what to bring | zen | success rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seed | Seed Master | 1 excellent item +4 or higher, 1 ancient item +4 or higher, 1 Jewel of Chaos, 1 Jewel of Creation, 1 Jewel of Harmony | 1,000,000 | 80% to 90% |
| Seed Sphere | Seed Master | 1 seed, 1 sphere (Mono, Di or Tri), 1 Jewel of Chaos, 1 Jewel of Creation | 1,000,000 | 80% to 90% |
| Mount | Seed Researcher | the socket item, 1 Seed Sphere, 1 Jewel of Chaos, 1 Jewel of Creation | 1,000,000 | 100% |
| Remove | Seed Researcher | the socket item | 1,000,000 | 100%, and the Seed Sphere is destroyed |
| 380 option | Chaos Goblin | 1 380 item +4 or higher with additional option, 1 Jewel of Harmony, 1 Jewel of Guardian | 10,000,000 | 50% to 70% |
Where they are: Chaos Goblin at Noria 180,103, Seed Master at Noria 184,101 and Seed Researcher at Noria 186,101.
For the seed and the Seed Sphere, the success rate rises with the value of the items, up to 90%. If it fails, everything in the combination is lost.

What is a socket item?
It is the item with a purple name. Its description shows each socket: empty or with the option mounted.
- The number of sockets is rolled when the item drops: 1 to 3, and 1 to 5 on the Stinger Bow. It never changes afterwards.
- Weapons take Fire, Lightning and Ice. Armor and shields take Water, Earth and Wind.
- Each socket takes one Seed Sphere. The same option can't repeat on the same item: two Fire spheres with different options are fine; two identical ones are not.
| class | sets | weapons | shield |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dark Knight | Titan, Brave | Flamberge, Sword Breaker | Crimson Glory |
| Dark Wizard | Hades | Imperial Staff | Guardian Shield |
| Fairy Elf | Seraphim, Faith | Stinger Bow (up to 5 sockets), Frost Mace | Frost Barrier |
| Magic Gladiator | Destory, Phantom (no helm) | Imperial Sword, Deadly Staff | Salamander Shield |
| Dark Lord | Paewang | Absolute Scepter | — |
Where do socket items drop?
Socket items drop from monsters as regular items. Each piece drops from monsters whose level is between its drop level and 11 above: boots and gloves start at level 92 monsters, and weapons and armor go up to level 150 monsters. Each piece's drop level is on its page in the guide.
Good maps: Vulcanus, Kanturu I, LaCleon and Swamp of Calmness.
Step 1: the seed (Seed Master)
Bring to the Seed Master (Noria 184,101):
- 1 excellent item +4 or higher, of any kind;
- 1 ancient item +4 or higher, of any kind;
- 1 Jewel of Chaos, 1 Jewel of Creation and 1 Jewel of Harmony;
- 1,000,000 zen.
The seed is random: the element (Fire, Water, Ice, Wind, Lightning or Earth) and the level. The seed's + tells which option it gives, per the tables below: a Seed (Fire) +2, for example, is maximum damage. Both items are consumed, whether it succeeds or not.
Step 2: the Seed Sphere (Seed Master)
Bring to the Seed Master the seed, a sphere, 1 Jewel of Chaos, 1 Jewel of Creation and 1,000,000 zen.
The sphere sets the strength of the option: Mono is level 1, Di level 2 and Tri level 3. The Seed Sphere keeps the seed's element and option, and its name carries the level: Seed Sphere (Fire) (3) is Fire with a Tri sphere.
| sphere | Seed Sphere level | drops from monsters of level | where to farm (warp level) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sphere (Mono) | 1 | 102 to 113 | Vulcanus (150), Kanturu I (160), Karutan 1 and 2 (170) |
| Sphere (Di) | 2 | 122 to 133 | Vulcanus (150), Kanturu I (160), LaCleon (280), Swamp of Calmness (400) |
| Sphere (Tri) | 3 | 132 to 143 | LaCleon (280), Swamp of Calmness (400) |
Tri is the strongest sphere on the server.
Step 3: mount it in the socket (Seed Researcher)
Bring to the Seed Researcher (Noria 186,101) the socket item, the Seed Sphere, 1 Jewel of Chaos, 1 Jewel of Creation and 1,000,000 zen. The window lists the item's sockets: pick the socket in the list and combine. The success rate is 100%.
How do I remove a Seed Sphere?
At the same Seed Researcher: put in only the socket item, pick the socket in the list and pay 1,000,000 zen. The Seed Sphere is destroyed; it doesn't go back to your inventory. If it was in one of the first three sockets, the socket bonus goes away too.
Option table for each element
The three numbers are the values with a Mono, Di and Tri sphere.

|---|---|---|
| +0 | Defense success rate | +10% / +11% / +12% |
| +1 | Defense | +30 / +33 / +36 |

| +5 | AG recovery | +3 / +5 / +7 |
Earth (armor and shield)
| seed | option | Mono / Di / Tri |
|---|---|---|
| +0 | Maximum life | +30 / +32 / +34 |
Socket bonus: the order of the first three sockets
When the third Seed Sphere goes into the item, there is a 30% chance it gets a bonus, if sockets 1, 2 and 3 are in one of these orders:
| item | order in sockets 1, 2 and 3 | bonus |
|---|---|---|
| weapon | Fire, Lightning, Ice | Damage +11 |
| weapon | Lightning, Ice, Fire | Skill damage +11 |
| staff and stick | Fire, Lightning, Ice | Damage +5 |
| staff and stick | Lightning, Ice, Fire | Skill damage +11 |
| armor and shield | Water, Earth, Wind | Defense +24 |
| armor and shield | Earth, Wind, Water | Maximum life +29 |
The roll happens only at that moment. If it misses, the only way to try again is to remove one of the three Seed Spheres, which is lost, and mount another.
Set bonus: counting all equipped items
| Seed Spheres equipped, counting all items | bonus |
|---|---|
| at least 1 of each element (Fire, Lightning, Ice, Water, Wind and Earth) | +3% double damage chance |
| Fire 1, Lightning 1, Ice 1, Water 3, Wind 3 and Earth 2 | +1% chance to ignore defense |
How to get the most out of socket items
- Plan the order before mounting. Weapon in Fire, Lightning, Ice and armor in Water, Earth, Wind: each piece can get the socket bonus, and the weapon plus three armor pieces in that order already complete both set bonuses.
- Use Tri spheres. They drop in LaCleon and Swamp of Calmness. Each option is mounted once, and swapping it later destroys the old Seed Sphere.
- For damage: Fire +2 (maximum damage), Fire +4 (damage), Lightning +1 (excellent damage rate) and Ice +2 (skill damage).
- To farm with Idle without dying: Ice +0 on the weapon recovers life for each monster killed; on armor, Water +3 (damage reduction), Wind +1 (maximum life) and Earth +0.
- Count your jewels. An item with 3 full sockets costs, with no failures, 3 excellent items, 3 ancients, 3 Jewel of Harmony, 9 Jewel of Chaos, 9 Jewel of Creation and 9,000,000 zen.
380 items and the 380 option
The 380 option goes on one 380 piece at a time and only once per piece.
| class | 380 set | 380 weapon |
|---|---|---|
| Dark Knight | Dragon Knight | Bone Blade |
| Dark Wizard | Venom Mist | Grand Viper Staff |
| Fairy Elf | Sylphid Ray | Sylph Wind Bow |
| Magic Gladiator | Volcano (no helm) | Explosion Blade |
| Dark Lord | Sunlight | Soleil Scepter |
All of them require level 380 and drop from monsters as regular items.
How to add the 380 option
Bring to the Chaos Machine at the Chaos Goblin (Noria 180,103):
- 1 380 piece +4 or higher, with an additional option;
- 1 Jewel of Harmony and 1 Jewel of Guardian;
- 10,000,000 zen.
| piece level | success rate |
|---|---|
| +4 to +6 | 50% |
| +7 to +9 | 60% |
| +10 to +15 | 70% |
If it fails, the piece stays as it was; the jewels and the zen are lost.
What the 380 option gives
| piece | bonus |
|---|---|
| weapon | PvP attack success rate +10 and PvP damage +200 |
| helm | PvP defense success rate +10 and SD recovers 20% faster |
| armor | PvP defense success rate +10 and SD recovers anywhere |
| pants | PvP defense success rate +10 and PvP defense +100 |
| gloves | PvP defense success rate +10 and maximum life +200 |
| boots | PvP defense success rate +10 and maximum SD +200 |
The 380 option is made for PvP. If you only farm, the ones that pay off are the gloves (+200 life) and the boots (+200 SD).
Where the jewels and items come from
- Jewel of Harmony and Jewel of Guardian: from the Illusion of Kundun 7, the Kalima 7 boss. Each kill drops 1 to 3 jewels, rolled among Bless, Soul, Life, Chaos, Harmony and Guardian. And Chaos Castle 6 and 7 drop 1 Harmony and 1 Guardian per match.
- Jewel of Creation: winning Chaos Castle and finishing Devil Square and Blood Castle.
- Jewel of Chaos: level 30 to 66 monsters, Blood Castle and the Red Dragon invasion. See jewels and economy.
- Ancient item: reward for the winner of Chaos Castle 2 to 7 (20% to 70% chance) and Illusion of Kundun 7.
- Excellent item: drops from monsters on any map.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my item's name purple?
Because it is a socket item: it has sockets for Seed Spheres. The item description shows how many sockets it has and what is mounted in each one.
Can I increase the number of sockets on an item?
No. The number of sockets, 1 to 3 (1 to 5 on the Stinger Bow), is rolled when the item drops and never changes.
Where are the Seed Master and the Seed Researcher in Idle MU?
In Noria, next to the Chaos Goblin: Seed Master at 184,101 and Seed Researcher at 186,101.
Can I remove a Seed Sphere without losing it?
No. Removing a Seed Sphere at the Seed Researcher costs 1,000,000 zen and destroys the Seed Sphere.
Where do I get Jewel of Harmony and Jewel of Guardian in Idle MU?
From the Illusion of Kundun 7, the Kalima 7 boss: each kill drops 1 to 3 jewels, and Harmony and Guardian are in the roll. And from Chaos Castle 6 and 7, which drop 1 Harmony and 1 Guardian per match.
Which sphere is the strongest?
Sphere (Tri), which makes a level 3 Seed Sphere. It drops from level 132 to 143 monsters, in LaCleon and Swamp of Calmness.
Can I put two identical Seed Spheres on the same item?
No. Two different options of the same element are fine; the same option twice is not.
Is the 380 option useful if I don't PvP?
Not much. Outside PvP, only the gloves (+200 maximum life) and the boots (+200 maximum SD) give a bonus.
